Dayton Literary Peace Prize

Advance Peace Through Literature This Giving Tuesday

Today, on Giving Tuesday, people around the world are coming together to support what matters most. At the Dayton Literary Peace Prize Foundation, our mission is simple and powerful: to advance peace through literature. As the only U.S. literary award dedicated to authors whose work fosters understanding and connection, we believe stories can change hearts, deepen empathy, and spark hope.

Your support makes this mission real. This year, more than 700 people attended our public Conversation with the Authors, featuring our 2025 Ambassador Richard C. Holbrooke Lifetime Achievement honoree, Salman Rushdie—an unforgettable evening where attendees heard directly from one of the world’s most influential writers. Through our growing National Impact Series, DLPP authors have also met with hundreds of readers at cultural institutions across the country, including The Carter Presidential Library, The Brooklyn Public Library, and The Mercantile Library, with more events planned for the coming year. Your Giving Tuesday gift helps us expand these programs, reach more students and readers, and amplify the voices of authors whose work encourages peace and understanding—at a time when the world needs it most.

As part of Giving Tuesday, we will randomly select one donor to receive a set of 2025 DLPP award-winning books.

Thank you for supporting the Dayton Literary Peace Prize Foundation, and warm wishes for a peaceful holiday season.
